How long have you been a digital nomad?
6 years
Tell us about your current work, and how it's impacting the digital nomad community or lifestyle
Draper Startup House (https://draperstartuphouse.com/) is on a mission to help build 1 million businesses worldwide by 2030. We are going to accomplish this by building a global business ecosystem consisting of 4 pillars:

Our thinking is that physical spaces by themselves are not that interesting. But combined with a global business ecosystem, the combination can be a powerful tool to help build 1 million businesses worldwide in the next decade.
Where was the first international place you started your nomad journey and what was the experience like for you?
I'm originally from California. I started my digital nomad journey in 2015 in Argentina which led me to nomading across 60+ countries over the past 6 years. I'm now based in Singapore.
How did friends react to your decision to start nomading? Have reactions about your lifestyle as a nomad changed or mostly been the same?
They are all very supportive and vicariously live through my adventures :)
What's your typical remote work atmosphere preference when nomading and why: work from your living space during the day; work from cafes; work at a coworking office; or something else?
I'm a very social person so I like working from cafes or coworking spaces that have a social environment. But For deep work and concentrated phone calls I prefer to take them from my own living space.
What are some of your favorite remote work tools (aside from zoom & google meet, ha!)
Slack.
What do you think is the biggest misconception about the digital nomad life
In the past digital nomad life was predominantly practiced by solo-preneurs, independent online lifestyle coaches and marketing consultants, online tutors and online teachers. But the future of the community will also consist of corporate professionals who work for large companies.
The entire world went remote in a flash last year, and many people are considering taking their remote work on the road as a nomad. What would be your top 3 pieces of Advice to a new nomad?
  • Find your community;
  • Find your own rhythm;
  • Don't be afraid to experiment;
What's your hope for the digital nomad lifestyle and community at large as it evolves?
Over the next decades Digital Nomadism as a mainstream lifestyle is inevitable. Being a hunter-gatherer is an innate part of our human condition and now we are able to do it in a modern context with the help of digital technologies.
Last but not least - your favorite memory ever as a nomad (that you're comfy to share!) We dare you to pick one!
I met my wife while traveling as a digital nomad. We are now happily married with two beautiful children :)
