VISA DETAILS

The WIN Visa (evidenced by a stamp known as the WIN Visa Stamp) is issued on arrival in Dominica and is valid from that date for up to 18 months.

Under the WIN Visa, you are allowed to carry out any type of work that can be conducted remotely. However, the WIN visa only allows you to work remotely for companies and individuals that are not registered in Dominica.

Children of WIN Visa holders may attend school (whether public, private or online) in Dominica. Education is compulsory for children between the ages of five and 16.

The Minister for National Security and Home Affairs may revoke the WIN Visa of an individual who contravenes or fails to comply with the provisions of the WIN Visa. Additionally, the WIN Visa will be revoked if the holder is involved in any crime or activity that may bring disrepute to Dominica or damage the WIN Visa Programme.

TAX

A waiver on income tax will be granted for people working remotely from Dominica under the WIN Visa. However, WIN Visa holders must remain responsible for paying income tax to their normal country of residence/tax domicile.

Within the first three months of receipt of the WIN Visa Stamp in Dominica, WIN Visa holders may import personal and business-related items, tools of trade, and household items free of Import Duty and Value Added Tax (VAT). They will, however, be required to pay Customs Service Charge and Environmental Surcharge on these items. The importation option applies to vehicle and equipment that can be imported free of Import Duty, Environmental Surcharge, and Value Added Tax, but these items must be exported at the end of the WIN stay in Dominica.

Processing Times

After submission of the Application Form, you will receive an approval letter within 14-28 days and have 30 days to make the WIN Visa Payment. Alternatively, you may apply for an extension.

If a payment extension is needed, you must indicate the reasons by email within the 30-day period. Your request will be reviewed and, if approved, the payment period will be extended by a further 30 days.

After approval of the WIN Visa application, you will have 90 days to arrive in Dominica.

The WIN Visa Stamp is issued on arrival in Dominica and is valid from that date for up to 18 months.

Upon arrival, WIN Visa holders must adhere to all COVID 19 travel protocols. Visit the Travel Advisory page for more details.
